Check out the free hip-hop expo in downtown Kitchener this weekend. Taking place at Kitchener City Hall, this should be a good show. Great DJ lineup and dance crews showing us their stuff. Always great seeing local artists and musicians in the K-W region.

Event Details from the KW Hip-Hop Expo Site:

Our event will take place on Saturday Septemeber 5th, 2009 in downtown Kitchener-Waterloo at the Civic Square in front of Cityhall.
The show is scheduled to start at 2pm. We will be working with a live entertainment stage BBQ food vendors serving hamburgers, hotdogs, sausages and jerk chicken.
A variety of vendors will be there with magazines, mixtapes, and albums amongst the other activities we will have on site.

The 5 elements of hip-hop will be displayed at the festival
with break dancers, graffiti artists, lyricists, and DJ’s, all having their own segment.
We will be showcasing talent from KW region all the way to Toronto
with acts such as:
JD Era, A-Game, Mantis, Justis, Esjay & Scorsesse, Fraction, Mister E, The Rhythm & The Rebel, Highest Grade, Neoterik Dance Crew, DJ Everblue, Dj Butterfingaz, DJ Flash, DJ Pangea and many more.

Crazy wild animals spotted in Uptown Waterloo!

New arrivals at Thryve Clothing are turning seemingly normal humans into wild monkeys, buffalo, lobsters, pigs, kangaroos, frogs, blowfish, owls, bunnies and more. Even a Yeti. Can you believe it!? Yeti running around the city in August. Well it’s true!

Today we opened the doors at our new location and despite not having any of our signs in place, new and existing customers have found us and the feed back of the new store has been great. Everyone is liking the unique lofty boutique feel. Well worth the trip up the stairs to check it out. Our official Grand Re-Opening event starts Friday August 28th. Lots of new arrivals coming soon!

The Waterloo Busker Carnival returns to Uptown in a few short days.

An event that never seems to disappoint. Some of the amazing street performer acts will be taking place directly in front of our new location where we have just re-opened. All are welcome to drop by and check out the new spot while you are in the Uptown area. We’re just above King Street Cycles on the corner of King and Erb street now. Thryve Clothing now at 2 King Street South in Waterloo Ontario

Kicking off our first blog post is some exciting news… We are moving locations!

But don’t worry, we didn’t move far. In fact, we are moving back to our original location where we first opened back in November 2004. Still in the heart of Uptown Waterloo, we are now located at 2 King Street South (corner of King and Erb). After a a few years at “The Shops” in Waterloo Town Square, our original spot proved to be a better location for our customers and business. A store that truly offers one of the most uniqe shopping experiences in the K-W region. Going back to our loft like boutique on the second floor has a lot of our customers already talking as the word spreads about our address change.

The renovations of the new store are underway and we expect to be open really soon. We hope to post some construction updates as things progress. Keep checking back often as we will have more exciting news and useful information on the Thryve Clothing blog in the very near future. We are also working on our online store as well, so if you cannot make it to Uptown Waterloo, visit Thryve Clothing Online.
